Here's how I see it. Smith is asking for about the same contract Wallace is. Who would you rather have, a wide receiver who can take the top of a defense or a corner who is probaby average at best? Teams get into trouble when they overvalue their own players. Time to move on with Smith.
Devin McCourty has 14 int's his first 3 years. 7, 2, and 5.
Sean Smith has 5 int's his first 4 years 0, 1, 2, and 2. Sean Smith has dropped numerous int's and several pick 6's. Sean Smith led the league in giving up most the TDs and first downs combined.
That may be his asking price but his settling price needs to come down.
I don't even want him back anymore.
