I never saw this article posted, but it's interesting. McDaniel is a free agent, and there haven't been any rumors of him being in contract talks with Miami.

He's been injured quite a bit during the last couple of seasons, and guys like Kheeston Randall have made a player like McDaniel an afterthought.

this isn't much of a hot button issue, I just hadn't seen anybody talking about McDaniel at all.

If Starks is Franchised and we sign or Draft a true DE, we wouldn't need McDaniel. Odrick is not a DE and should be moved back to DT where he gets all his sacks anyway. We don't need to pay McDaniel a bunch of money to be hurt for half the season either. Kheeston Randle is developing to be a good rotational player as well.

Got blasted for saying we should cut him before last year - no need to give a backup that kind of money. I think Randall looked decent enough for me to feel hell be decent depth

McDaniel is a real good player. Noticed him almost every time he comes into the game. Maybe we cannot afford him, but I would not consider him easily replaceable. I actually would not mind resigning him and giving him more reps.

He's been overpaid as a backup for a few years now. Randall's a younger, cheaper option. Don't see any point in bringing Tony back.

His status could be very well related to Starks. If we keep Starks, I think Mcdaniel is gone but if we lose Starks we could resign Mcdaniel and rotate him with Odrick/Soliai/Randall inside. We could then draft a DE (Werner?, Mingo?) in the 1st round to rotate with Vernon/Shelby opposite Wake...
