Lamar is a baller and fits our offense well. He just needs work in blitz pickup. This was the plan from the second they drafted him. Miller is faster and more elusive than Reggie with another 15-20 pounds on his frame. I'm excited about him starting.
Miller is not faster nor do I think he is elusive. He is a better straght ahead runner though

Daniel Thomas is unreliable and a concussion waiting to happen. Players stopped patting his helmet after his rare good play because they were afraid he'd get another concussion.

It's a simple as Miller being a much better back than Thomas. Miller is a home run threat every time he touches the ball. He obviously needs to improve on picking up blitzes. But his pros out weigh his cons. Thomas, for a big guy, *****-foots around too much. He's also, apparently, as fragile as a china doll and puts the ball on the ground too often. It's way too easy to pick Miller in comparing the two. However, I can see Thomas coming in a lot in goal line situations. Also, Thomas needs to run lower. He runs entirely too upright. He needs to use his size to his advantage. As of now, from what I've seen, he doesn't

Dude has 4.3 speed, doesn't fumble and hits his gaps in fll stride.......doesn't dance around like Bush. Thomas is a great compliment for grinding those tough yards. They will make a nice duo. I have no doubt that Miller breaks some huge runs this season.....
    Thomas grinds out tough yards?

He's definitely faster at this point. A couple years ago I would say Reggie is faster but not now.

Reggie Bush ran a 4.33 and 4.38 at his USC Pro Day on a track whereas Lamar Miller ran an official time of 4.40 at the NFL Combine.

With the injuries Bush has had to his legs over his career, it is doubtful that he is still as fast as he was five years ago.

Just for the record my only reason for comparing their stats was to point out that our coaching staff chose to give Thomas more carries. For whatever reason.

According to all the beat writers there's not even any semblance of mixed message from inside the Dolphins facility. Lamar Miller is "the" guy with Reggie Bush gone, and Daniel Thomas isn't even in the mix.

Thomas got more carries because Sherman didn't trust Miller with his blitz pick-up. If Tannehill changed the play, Thomas more capable of picking up the pass protection than Miller was and therefore got more playing time and more carries.

I've heard this a few times but I think it's just an educated guess by us fans. I could be wrong but I have not seen any proof that Miller has played less because of his blocking. Sounds logical though
