Jeff Darlington just wrote a great detailed article about the Dolphins pursuit of Mike Wallace. He says that Vincent Jackson was Ireland's #1 target last year but underestimated how much it would cost to get him. Says that this time Ireland is not going to make that mistake again this year and is prepared to pay Wallace what it takes to get him. The plan, which Darlington says the team is calling "Plan A" is to have a WR group of Wallace, Hartline and Bess by next week.

I'm honestly not trying to be a Debbie Downer here, but what happens if Wallace gets hurt or struggles to learn the offense? I really hope Ireland isn't just planning to sign one free agent and call it a day. One guy isn't going to fix this offense.
Me say come, Mister Fisher man, show me da contract
Daylight come and Jake Long go home

An' it's six mil, seven mil, eight mil bunch
Daylight come and Jake Long go home

Good question. If they do get Wallace and are able to bring back Hartline, I doubt they would sign another free agent WR. That would be a lot of free agent money tied up in those guys. They probably will still add a WR in the draft.

I'd make him the highest paid WR in the league if I were Jeff Ireland just to ensure not another *FAIL* of pursue and rejection in a beginning of the end to his tenure here in Miami. I think to ward off Wallace testing the other bidders, Jeff must start off March 9th with offering making him the highest paid WR in the league, or we'll lose him to CLE, IND, or even possibly NE on March 12th. :O

    Is Wallace a rosenhaus player?

I remember hearing when they asked rosenhaus if hartline was near a deal with Mia and he said yes, with a smile. Maybe he knows hartline and Wallace are basically dome deals in Mia? Am I going to far with this?

This is why I have a WR at 42 in my mock draft

But that possibility of injury is Flacco's, Brady's, and Vince Jackson's possibility too. That doesn't mean they don't pay them...I know I know Flyn, I meant to quote RG but clicked on the wrong one

I have a deep suspicion (fear?) that we will come up empty between Wallace and Jennings. If that is reality, I would really like to make a run at a prominent pass-catching threat TE and resign Fasano for pass blocking and occasional passes.

Miami has quickly become that fat girl at the dance that everybody knows is an easy lay and gives amazing **** but jocks only use her to get the attention of the super hot chick at the party in hopes that she'll get jealous and will want a long term relationship.
