Some of my fellow Fins don't get it! Jake Long is a top 5 LT period. He could play better with one hand that all the player on the O-Line except for our center Pounce. your crazy my friend Jake Long hasnt been top 5 tackle since rookie year.A left tackles worth isnt what it was 5yrs ago.Hes not worth half what he is asking,and really another vontae complaint?He had horrible work ethic,showed no signs of improvement from year to year.Was total waste of a pick,glad we got what we did for him.He routinely got beat like a fat kid in dodgeball by average wrs
Jake is on the decline... his feet have gotten worse over the years and he's hurt us in games with dumb penalties. Wish him the best, but you gotta go.
I dont know which Jake Long your watching but the one that played for the Miami Dolphins the past 2 years isnt even a top 10 LT let alone a top five. I could name 10 LT's that are better than he is. I really wished fans who commented on his play actually watched that games as JM played at the same level this year that Long has been playing at the past two years, and he was only a rookie as there was NO drop in offense when JM took over than when JL was playing and it could also be argued that the offense actually played better with JM than JL.

According to Profootballtalk.com, there is "little or no chatter in league circles" about any team making a major push for free agent LT Jake Long.
"Some" NFL teams reportedly believe Long needs to play right tackle instead of left, which would severely diminish his market value. Long is also coming off back-to-back disappointing seasons. Our gut feeling all along has been that Long will wind up re-signing with the Dolphins on a deal worth significantly less than he's seeking.
