Thier are a few things here.
1) Sean Smith may of not wanted to be here. He may of not given us a chance to match.Kind of like Wes Welker was insulted about the Pats offer, but really only got 1mil more per from Denver, because he felt underappreciated.
2) Philbin and Ireland clearly have a plan and it did not involve Sean Smith. Quite frankly I really don't think Philbin thinks Smith is a good football player. He did get a fair deal though, so props to K.C.
But I think after all the talking Smith's agent did about 9mil per yr, he didnt want to come crawling back to Miami. Probabaly did not give us a chance to match
