In need of Expert Gaming advice

Quick Question for you Football Gaming Junkies.....

I'm going to purchase a system in the next couple of days, all I want is one system and one football game.

I'd like to get everyones Ideas on which system is preferred, X-Box - or Playstation?

I'd also like to know which game would be best of the ones that are out now. Obviously Madden is rated the highest, but everyone has their opinions and I've actually talked to a few who preffered ESPN over Madden.

It would be cool if everyone here who owns a system would at least chime in with a "Playstation-Madden" Combination or whatever you believe is the best combination of system/game - just give me a quick idea of the majority here.

If you want a game as close to real NFL as possible, Madden is the way to go. Everything else is arcade-ish in their gameplay. If you wanna go online with your gaming, PS2 is the way to go. The only NFL game that goes online on XBOX is NFL Fever, and that game blows ***......

Well, I'm not really interested in the online thing at the moment, I guess the better question would be which system displays better graphics, sound, gameplay, controls, ect.....

Thats opinion for the most part. XBOX has slightly better graphics, but thats the only distinct difference. I'm personally used to the PS2 controller, so I like the way it handles better than the XBOX. I guess the answer to yuor queston varies from person to person, so it really is just your preference......

Or you could wait a few months, because I've got a good feeling that Sony and Microsoft will be rolling out a price cut on both their consoles to keep them selling at a brisk pace. If the price cut comes in August, you can go pick up Madden 2005 too.

Get madden on xbox if you aint gonna play online..it has better graphics.

PS2 and madden has lesser graphics, by a little then xbox. But I like the game play much more, plus I am more used to the ps2 controller, and a lot more of my friends have ps2 then xbox.

Best recent one IMO is ESPN 2K5, I have it for PS2.
