Bess And Carpenter Retained PDF Print E-mail

BESS, CARPENTER TO RETURN IN 2010

 Davone Bess

The Dolphins entered the 2010 offseason with three exclusive rights free agents and today two of them were retained. According to the National Football Post, the Dolphins gave receiver Davone Bess and Pro Bowl kicker Dan Carpenter qualifying offers. As exclusive free agents, players have to take the offers or sit out the season and can have no contact with other teams. Meaning, Bess and Carpenter will officially return to the Dolphins in 2010.

One interesting note is that tight end Joey Haynos was also an exclusive rights free agent. No word yet whether the team has extended a qualifying offer to him. If they do not, Haynos's stay in Miami could be over.

UPDATE: The Sun-Sentinel is reporting that Joey Haynos has also been retained with a qualifying offer.
