FORMER COWBOY CORY PROCTER TO VISIT FINS The offensive line is arguably the Dolphins deepest position on the team which is why the team is looking to trade injury-prone guard Justin Smiley. With that in mind the Dolphins are considering adding another player to an already deep group of lineman as they will host free agent guard/center Cory Procter. At first glance this looks like a potential move to create even more competition at the guard positions where Richie Incognito looks like the only guard assured of a starting spot. Nate Garner, Donald Thomas and rookie John Jerry will all be competing for the starting left guard position. However, Garner, who is considered the front runner for the left guard spot, missed the OTA practice today as he is recovering from an undisclosed surgery. Unlike receiver Brandon Marshall, who rode the stationary bike as he recovers from a surgery on his hip, Garner was not even on the practice field. With his absence today and the possible addition of Procter, one has to wonder if Garner's injury is serious enough to keep him out for awhile. Procter, who is 6-4, 311 pounds, played the past five seasons for the Dallas Cowboys. He originally joined the Detroit Lions in 2005 but ended up spending the season with the Cowboys. Bill Parcells and Tony Sparano were with the Cowboys when the team acquired Procter. TELL US WHAT YOU THINK IN THE FINHEAVEN FORUMS!
