DOLPHINS SIGN OFFENSIVE LINEMAN CORY PROCTER

 Cory Procter

On the same day that the Dolphins were in the midst of trading Justin Smiley to the Jaguars, the Dolphins signed former Dallas Cowboys offensive lineman Cory Procter.

The 6-4, 311 pound Procter and the Dolphins agreed to a multi-year deal on Monday and he will enter the battle at the guard position. While Richie Incognito appears to be penciled in as the starting right guard, the left guard position is wide open. Procter will compete with Donald Thomas, Nate Garner and rookie John Jerry for the starting position. Even if Procter does not win a starting job, he will provide veteran depth at both guard spots and even at center.

Even with the subtraction of Justin Smiley, the addition of of Cory Procter makes a strong unit even stronger.
