PHILLIP MERLING ARRESTED

 Phillip Merling

For the fourth time since the 2009 season ended, a member of the Miami Dolphins team has been arrested. This time, defensive end Phillip Merling was arrested and charged for aggravated battery on a victim he should have known was pregnant.

The arrest does not bode well for Merling since he was expected to face a strong competition during training camp from first round pick Jared Odrick for a starting defensive end job. Merling could face team and/or league punishment but likely won't be released.

This is the fourth time since Super Bowl weekend that a member of the Dolphins was arrested. Joining Merling were Tony McDaniel, Will Allen and Ronnie Brown.
