NT MONTAVIOUS STANLEY SIGNS DEAL WITH FINS

 Montavious Stanley

The Dolphins continued their search to find replacements for NT Jason Ferguson, who retired last week, and defensive end Phillip Merling, who suffered a season ending injury. Merling's roster spot was replaced on Friday by former Jets defensive end Marques Douglas and Ferguson's roster spot was replaced on Sunday by former Jaguars NT Montavious Stanley. The Dolphins and Stanley agreed to a deal that will allow the four year pro to compete for a spot behind starter Randy Starks.

The 6-2, 302 pound Stanley was a 2006 6th round draft pick by the Dallas Cowboys. During his four year career he has also played for the St. Louis Rams, Jacksonville Jaguars, Atlanta Falcons and New Orleans Saints. He also spent time on the roster of the USFL's Omaha Nighthawks.
