DOLPHINS SELECT SPEED RECEIVER IN ROUND FOUR

The Dolphins continued to address their big offseason needs when they took wide receiver Edmond Gates with the 111th selection in the fourth round of the 2011 NFL draft. The Dolphins needed a speed receiver to team with Pro Bowl receiver Brandon Marshall and slot receiver Davone Bess and that is what they get in Gates.

Gates comes to the Dolphins from Abilene Christian University and NFL Network draft expert Mike Mayock compares him to Pittsburgh Steelers receiver Mike Wallace. Mayock also calls Gates a "legitimate 4.35 kid".
