Dolphins Blow It! PDF Print E-mail
Written by Matt Kent

                     BIG EASY!!!!

Dolphin Defense Humiliates Itself as Saints Comeback from 21 Down

                                                              Dolphins 34 Saints 46

     Brees

Drew Brees starts the rally with this 2nd quarter TD

For one and a half quarters the Miami Dolphins made a statement. They dominated the best team in the NFL with big plays on offense and defense. For the next two and a half quarters they made another statement...they are not good.  After storming to a 21 point lead the Dolphins just blew it. The defensive gave up huge play after huge play and all of a sudden the offense just looked stupid. I know that is not offical news type lingo to say that, but it is honest fan lingo. Right before my eyes the game became the Colts game. The fins would make a huge play and take control of the game. Then they would kick off and the Saints would make bigger plays. We would get a turnover, the Saints would get a turnover and score on it. It was like some kind of bad surreal drama as we witnessed a meltdown that hasn't been since the famed Jets Monday Night Miracle. As much as I want to blame Ted Ginn for dropping pass after pass and giving away a defensive TD on one, as much as I want to blame the offensive play calling that keeps deciding to put Pat White in at key times and for doing nothing, as much as I want to blame Gebril Wilson who gets burnt every week and looked like a child trying to handle Shockey, I really blame the front office this week. We had a terrible safety situation and they failed to fix it. We had a terrible wide reciever situation and they have blatantly refused to address it. They let Andre Goodman get away, and they just have not addressed the teams needs the way they should have. They could have made a trade and they didn't. This team is so bad defensively thay it should have been embarrassed to be on the same field as the Killer Bees that were being celebrated this weekend.  Make no mistake about it this season is over. At 2-4 we can hardly expect to come back and make a run. Not with New England playing lights out. The best we can do now is put in the young people and see if they can play so we know if they will contribute in the future. Put in Pat Turner and see if he can play. Put in Cameron Wake and see of he can play. Let Henne take his lumps because the last two drives of the game he looked a lot less impressive as he missed open receivers and for some reason chose not to go down field in he last two minutes but instead run out the clock with five yard passes. Oh and by the way if this wasn't all bad enough we have the Jets sitting at home waiting for us to come to their house so they can extract some revenge for the loss they suffered at our hands. Wiith them improving and us declining this will be nothing less than a turkey shoot as we continue to prove we have a worthless pathetic defense that will lose us many, many more games.
