PENNINGTON TO RETURN TO DOLPHINS
With only hours now until the free agency period begins, the Dolphins are on the verge of solidifying their quarterback depth. In a move that many people expected not to happen, a source has told the Palm Beach Post that Chad Pennington will be re-signing with the Dolphins for the 2010 season.
Pennington, who was named the NFL comeback player of the year in his first season with the Dolphins in 2008, will likely serve as the primary backup to starter Chad Henne. With the Dolphins investing a second round pick last year in Pat White, the buzz will likely heat up that Tyler Thigpen is on the trading block. Perhaps the Dolphins decide to go into 2010 with four quarterbacks, but it is more likely the team will shop Thigpen to other teams in need of a quarterback.
