FINS TRADE DOWN AND DRAFT JARED ODRICK

Penn State NT Will Also Play DE

         Odrick

The Miami Dolphins left the fans feeling...well... flat. In what has become the annual "Who?" fesitval in Dolphin Nation, the Dolphins made a draft move that was very unexciting. At first it seemed like a good idea when they traded down and got the early second round pick when they had none in the 2nd round. Miami traded with San Diego out of the 12th spot and picked up San Diego's 28th pick overall, 40th pick overall, a fourth round pick. Then as players they targerd started to fall it looked like a GREAT deal. However in an omen for the night, some of the air came out when only two picks before them the Cardinals crabbed Dan Williams who had to be the target. But still that left very prominent OLBs Sergio Kindle and Jerry Hughes still on the board. Well in a very Ted Ginn like moment the team selected Jared Odrick. Now this is not a knock on the guy, but he just wasn't considered by many to be as high a talent as the other players that were on the board. And you could feel the collective groan and face palm of the Dolphin Nation. In the same vain as Ted Ginn, John Avery, Pat White and many other unheralded players we tend to take ahead of their ranking and who seem rarely to deliver the Miami Dolphins opted once more to seek the diamond in the rough instead of picking popular highly regarded talent. Maybe they know better...but only time will tell.

As for us fans, the hope is that when Miami picks with the 8th pick tomorrow night that somehow, Kindle falls to them or even talented safety Taylor Mays out of USC. So lets hope tomorrow brings us something that feels a little more satisfying than day one did.
