JOE DANNA NAMED ASSISTANT SECONDARY COACH In a move that appears to have gone under the radar, FinHeaven has learned that the Dolphins have appointed former Atlanta Falcons defensive quality control coach Joe Danna as the team's new assistant secondary coach. Danna will serve along side secondary coach/assistant head coach Todd Bowles as they try to improve a unit that gave up to many big plays in 2009. Before Danna joined the Falcons in 2008, he spent the 2007 season as the defensive backs coach for the James Madison Dukes. In 2006 he coached the defensive backs for Georgia Southern and was an assistant coach at Central Michigan from 2002 to 2005. He is a graduate of Central Michigan and played wide receiver for the Chippewas from 1995-1998. Danna's name has been removed from the coaching staff page on the Atlanta Falcons official website, but his name does not appear yet on the Dolphins official site. FinHeaven does not know when the hiring took place and why it never was announced. No national media outlets or even the local South Florida media has yet to report the hiring of Danna.
