Dolphins Trade Camarillo To Minnesota For Sapp PDF Print E-mail
Written by Josh Evans

DOLPHINS ADD CORNERBACK DEPTH WITH TRADE

Greg Camarillo/Benny Sapp

The Dolphins had a stockpile at wide receiver and decided to part ways with fourth string receiever Greg Camarillo. The team on Wednesday traded Camarillo to the Minnesota Vikings in exhange for cornerback Benny Sapp.

With Will Allen out until at least the beginning of the regular season after undergoing knee surgery, the team desperately needed extra depth at the cornerback position. The 5-9, 190 pound Sapp, played the previous two seasons with the Vikings, and played the previous four seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs. Sapp also started 7 games last year for the Vikings. The trade will be finalized once both players pass their physicals with their new teams.

In other news, the Dolphins terminated the contract of offensive guard Randy Thomas, who the team signed last week.
