TEAM CUTS ROSTER DOWN TO 75
With the Dolphins needing to trim the roster by one player for the mandatory NFL cut down to 75 players, the team placed third string tight end Joey Haynos on the waived/injured list today. The move is not shocking, since it was widely believed Haynos suffered a serious foot injury in Friday's 16-6 preseason loss to the Atlanta Falcons. While nothing has been officially reported on the severity of the of the injury, it was believed it will cost Haynos the entire 2010 season. Haynos signed with the Dolphins on September 24, 2008 and played the past two seasons with the team in a reserve role. During his tenure in Miami, he accounted for 21 receptions for 184 yards and 3 touchdowns. With Haynos now gone, the Dolphins currently have three tight ends on the roster with Anthony Fasano, David Martin and John Nalbone. The Dolphins are expected to only keep two tight ends on the 53 man roster, and it is possible Nalbone will spend the season again on the practice squad.
