GARNER PLACED ON IR
The depth along the offensive line took a big blow on Tuesday, as the Dolphins placed backup tackle/guard Nate Garner on Injured Reserve ending his season. Garner started eight games for the team in 2009 as he filled in at various spots along the line for injured starters. Garner's versatility along the line will be greatly missed this season. While the Dolphins do have adequate depth at the center and guard positions, the team is very thin at the tackle position. Pro Bowl left tackle Jake Long and right tackle Vernon Carey are the starters, but the team's main two backups, Andrew Gardner and Lydon Murtha have struggled during training camp and the preseason games. It is likely the team will add a new backup tackle to the roster this weekend after the mandatory league wide cut down to a 53 man roster. Stay tuned. TELL US WHAT YOU THINK IN THE FINHEAVEN FORUMS!
