Goodell: Dolphins fined for Henne having contact with Daboll PDF Print E-mail
Written by Josh Evans

PHINS FINED FOR CONTACT BETWEEN HENNE AND DABOLL

Chad Henne

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, speaking at the the NFL's owners meetings in New Orleans, said that the Dolphins were fined for the illegal contact between quarterback Chad Henne and new offensive coordinator Brian Daboll.

Under the expired CBA, players and coaches are not allowed to communicate after the season and before the start of the new league year. Anticipating a lockout, Henne and Daboll met numerous times to discuss the new offensive system so there would be no delay once the lockout was lifted. Henne's biggest mistake was that in an interview with a local paper, he mentioned the new offensive system and the contact he had with Daboll during the month of February.

Goodell confirmed that the Dolphins, along with four other teams, committed the same violation and were contacted and fined.
