MIAMI RUNS ALL OVER DALLAS WINS 17-3 Strong game by Rookie Daniel Thomas, Larry Johnson and Matt Moore Rookie Daniel Thomas breaks free Thursday night against Dallas
In the battle of backups Miami was the better team. Playing a well rounded game plan with a nice mix of running and throwing the ball, the Dolphins ended the 2011 preseason with a 3-1 record and on a roll heading into the season opener against New England. Being that this game was little more than a chance to evaluate talent before cuts are made, the Dolphins still managed to play well and were ignited by a big plays by two veterans. In the first quarter CB Will Allen tipped away a pass in the end zone and into Tyrone Culver's arms for an easy interception that killed an early scoring threat by Dallas. Shortly afterwards newly acquired running back Larry Johnson capped a 79 yard drive by taking a hand-off and breaking tackles down the right sideline and going 25 yards to pay dirt and a 7-0 Miami lead. Matt Moore looked steady as he moved the team efficiently and had good command of the offense. Throw in the fact that Miami was only penalized twice, and the defense kept Dallas out of the end zone and that makes for a well rounded effort. Now the team will make its final cuts and start preparing for the Patriots. TALK ABOUT IT IN THE FINHEAVEN FORUMS! The Internet's Largest Miami Dolphin Community
