DOLPHINS FINALLY WIN AFTER TWO HEARTBREAKING LOSSES
After two straight heartbreaking overtime losses to the New York Jets and Arizona Cardinals, the Miami Dolphins finally closed out a game and walked away victorious. The Dolphins pulled off the upset road victory with a score of 17-13 over the Cincinnati Bengals. The Bengals fell to 3-2 on the season and the Dolphins improved to 2-3. The Dolphins started the game off on a bad note with two early fumbles that resulted in the Bengals taking an early 6-0 lead on two Mike Nugent field goals. The Dolphins rebounded as a one yard touchdown run by Daniel Thomas gave the Dolphins a 7-6 lead, which they would take into halftime. The Dolphins started to take control of the game in the 3rd quarter when defensive lineman Randy Starks intercepted Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton. Three plays later the Dolphins took a 14-6 lead on a 13 yard touchdown run by Reggie Bush. Kicker Dan Carpenter would add a 46 yard field goal later in the 3rd quarter that would have the Dolphins a 17-6 lead. The Bengals did make things interesting when Dalton hit AJ Green for a 2 yard touchdown pass early in the 4th quarter. The Dolphins defense would hold strong the rest of the way and Reshad Jones sealed the deal by intercepting Dalton with 1:30 left in the game. Ryan Tannehill had another impressive day completing 17 of 26 passes for 223 yards. The NFL's leading receiver Brian Hartline had 4 receptions for 59 yards and Reggie Bush added another 48 yards on 19 carries. Cameron Wake also added to his team leading sack total with another sack, bringing his season total to 5.5 on the year. With a 2-3 record on the season, the Dolphins will be scoreboard watching the rest of the weekend, because it is possible they could see themselves tied for the division lead by the end of Monday. The Buffalo Bills travel to San Francisco in the afternoon and the Patriots are hosting Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos. The New York Jets face the impossible task of trying to beat the Houston Texans on Monday Night Football. The Dolphins return home next week to take on the St. Louis Rams.
