Assistant GM Brian Gaine could be headed to New York PDF Print E-mail

GAINE TO INTERVIEW FOR JETS' GM OPENING

Brian Gaine

The Dolphins are expected to retain their entire front office and coaching staff for the 2013 season. Of course, that is only if another team doesn't come calling with a potential job promotion. Today, Dolphins Assistant GM Brian GM got that call from the New York Jets to interview for the team's opening at the GM position.

Gaine joined the Dolphins in 2008 and was named the team's Director of Player Personnel. He was promoted to Assistant GM this past June. Gaine works closely with GM Jeff Ireland and Joe Philbin in personnel decisions and would be considered a loss. If Gaines lands the Jets' GM job he will inherit a messy situation as the team has a head coach on the hot seat, no viable starting quarterback and will be $19.4 million over the cap. Not exactly a good situation to be walking into.
