AWESOME!
LB Matt Roth and the Dolphin defense smotherd the high fliying San Diego offense There is plenty of talk going around about the new and exciting "Wildcat" offense that the Miami Dolphins are using. Plenty of deserved praise for Ronnie Brown and Chad Pennington who both gave terrific performances in the Dolphins 17-10 upset win against the San Diego Chargers. But from this fan's perspective I am blown away by this high energy and all of a sudden dominant Miami Dolphin defense. Against AFC powerhouses New England and now the Chargers they were fast, agressive, powerful and the once maligned secondary was stuck to the Charger receivers all day. All of a sudden Joey Porter is living up to his paycheck and his mouth and the move of Matt Roth this year to Linebacker is proving to be nothing less than genuis as he was a disruptive force all day. And don't let the score fool you, it really was not that close. Miami dominated the game for the majority and never was this more exciting then when a determined group held their ground for a stadium rocking goal line stand that culminated in a fourth and one stop of Ladanian Tomlinson that kept the all star running back out of the end zone. And while I am praising the defensive effort it is not lost on me the sheer physical dominance Miami showed when on the final drive when they needed to run out the clock they just shoved Ronnie Brown down the throat of the charger defense...and there was nothing they could do about it. This was the kind of football football guru Bill Parcell's loves and that has not been seen in Miami in many years. With back to back wins over the two conference leaders from 2007 there is an energy and excitment around this team that has gotten the South Florida fans feeling good about football again. Regardless of how the season plays out we can now see the beginning of something special happening in Miami. TALK ABOUT THE WIN IN THE FINHEAVEN FORUMS!
