OVERPOWERED Miami falls to Baltimore 27-13 The Ravens Ran through Miami's Defense on Sunday Exactly who this Miami Dolphin team? After loosing the first two games of the season the Dolphins bounced back with two consecutive upsets of AFC powerhouses New England and San Diego. Now they have lost two games they should have won and yesterday they were manhandled by the Ravens on a crushign 27-13 defeat. Who are these guys? On Sunday the Ravens overpowered and out played a Miami team who had no more tricks up there sleeve when the vaunted Wildcat offense was stuffed by the Raven's all star linebacking corp. Not only is this team losing they are actually getting beat in the trenches. The offensive line is not opening holes for the running game and the defense is not stopping the run. Also they are not getting pressure on the quarterback. The only pressure coming into the opponent backfield is coming from the linebackers and secondary. (Yes, we miss Jason Taylor). But there is more to these losses than just getting a pass rush. The secondary continues to look overmatched and the missed tackles are getting to be a real embarrassment. Perhaps this team just is not ready and maybe we are asking too much. When starved fans got two unexpected wins over strong teams perhaps we all got ahead of ourselves and just assumed that we were looking at this turnaround as if we had arrived. The reality is this team will not be rebuilt in one year, maybe not even two years. This Dolphin team played hard yesterday and hung in there until that last demoralizing drive by the Ravens that ended with Willis Magahee stretching across the goalline. But no matter how hard they play, maybe they just don't have enough talent to be a factor in the division race this season. As a life long fan I am OK with that because we are better and the games are exciting. So lets accept our team for what they are, an improved squad that will give us some thrills and some chills. How appropriate thsi Halloween season. What did you think of the game yesterday? TALK ABOUT IT IN THE FINHEAVEN FORUMS! THE INTERNETS LARGEST MIAMI DOLPHIN FAN COMMUNITY
