FINS SHOCK THE WORLD BY DRAFTING DRAFT'S TOP PASS RUSHER
Rip up all those mock drafts, the Dolphins made the biggest shock move of the first round of the NFL draft when they traded with the Oakland Raiders to acquire the 3rd overall pick. Most analysts thought the Dolphins would take Oklahoma left tackle Lane Johnson, but instead took the draft's top pass rusher in Oregon's Dion Jordan. The Dolphins only had to surrender the 12th overall selection and one of their two 2nd round picks(42nd overall) to make the move up to #3. At 6-6, 248 pounds, Jordan is a solid addition for a team that has been looking for a true complimentary pass rusher opposite Cameron Wake. With a defensive line that now includes Wake, Jordan, Paul Soliai, Randy Starks, Olivier Vernon and Jared Odrick, Miami has arguably one of the top defensive lines in the NFL. Miami is still not done in the draft, as they still have 9 more picks currently between now and Saturday. Check back later to see what else the Dolphins do during the draft, but it certainly started off with a bang.
