DARREN RIZZI JOINS COACHING STAFF

Earlier this week kicking coach Steve Hoffman left the team to become the Special Teams coach with the Kansas City Chiefs. The Dolphins moved fast to find his replacement and have hired Darren Rizzi as their Assistant Special Teams coach. Rizzi will work alongside second year Special Teams Coordinator John Bonamego.

Rizzi joins the Dolphins after spending the 2008 season as the University of Rhode Island head coach. He informed the the school and their players on Saturday of his decision and his resignation is effective on Tuesday.

With the Dolphins, Rizzi is reunited with Tony Sparano, whom he worked under as an assistant at New Haven.
