ROGERS TO GIVE NFL ANOTHER SHOT

 SirVincent Rogers

According to reports, the Dolphins have re-signed offensive tackle SirVincent Rogers for the 2010 season. Rogers originally signed with the Dolphins last April as an undrafted free agent from the University of Houston.

The 6-4, 315 pound Rogers struggled during camps last summer and decided to leave the team and opt for retirement from football. However, Rogers apparently has had a change of heart regarding the sport and will give the NFL another chance.

DOLPHINS TERMINATE JOEY PORTER (UPDATED)

 Joey Porter

Joey Porter made more headlines during the 2009 season with his mouth then he did with production on the field. After a January full of interviews complaining about his lack of playing time and desire to be cut, the Dolphins did just that today. The Dolphins terminated Porter's contract, which had two years remaining on it.

The release of Porter for the moment anyways, elevates Cameron Wake to a starting position for the 2010 season. However, with free agency and the draft still upon us, that could still change. After a Pro Bowl season in 2008 in which Porter notched 17.5 sacks, his production dropped significantly in 2009 with only 9 sacks.

UPDATE: The terminiation of Porter was deemed invalid by the league. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Dolphins are only $4.2 million under the 2009 season salary cap. By releasing Porter today, he would have been a $4.8 million cap hit. For the time being, Porter still remains on the Dolphins roster.

MCDANIEL CHARGED FOR DOMESTIC VIOLENCE

 Tony McDaniel

While the Saints spent Sunday celebrating their first Super Bowl championship in franchise history, Dolphins' backup defensive end Tony McDaniel was arrested for domestic violence.

According to reports, McDaniel pushed his girlfirend, Alaina Smith, to the ground after an argument Sunday morning. What they were arguing about exactly is still undetermined, but McDaniel was released from jail Sunday on a $3,500 bond. McDaniel was scheduled to meet with the Dolphins today to discuss the incident.

                                                                         ENOUGH!

Peezy Talks A Lot and Then Doesn't Show Up When He Is Needed

We Say He Has to Go!

       Porter

Porter blames the scheme. We blame Joey.

In the past few days Joey Porter has gone public about his desire to leave the Miami Dolphins. Joey claims he isn't being used properly and that he wants to play somewhere else where he can play full time.  Remember this is the same scheme that last year got him a career high 17.5 sacks. But now...its the scheme. Well the reason Joey wasn't more productive is because Joey wasn't effective. He struggled with an injury all year and was slowed so it was only natural that the team had to play other players. Joey also is getting older and the team has to explore young players while he struggled. But Joey, poor Joey didn't get his spotlight so instead of being a team player he is just all about being "Peezy". So he is whining in the press about how it's the teams fault and he doesn't want to be a part of it. Well I say get rid of him. I feel like this guy just has done a lot of talking and has not earned his keep. This is not take away from his great year last year. But that was one year and it was not what we hoped when we signed him. I just remember Joey on more than one occassion running his mouth and calling out players on other teams and then going silent during the game. Man he talks an awful lot. But when the big games come where does Joey go? He is invisible and we llost too many of those games. He just doesn't DESERVE to brag like he does. And now instead of being a professional and asking for his release quietly and professionally, he has got to go on a media tour and complain. Give me a break. I say let him go. Send him, his fat contract and his empty promises to some other team. We don't need him and we don't want him anymore.  He is just a reminder of what is always lurking out there that is bad about pro sports. Over-hyped players who are self promoting, full of bravado, and who turn on their team when their egos get bruised. Maybe I am old school, but give me the Zach Thomas of the world who goes out and makes an impact every game and dominates his position and then shuts up and does it again the next week. When the team and he parted ways he was grateful and respectful.

So get a low round draft pick or just out and out cut him. But Joey must go.
