BUSH RUNS WILD AS TODD BOWLES EARNS FIRST WIN

The Dolphins saw their head coach Tony Sparano lose his job last Monday and could have easily thrown in the towel on the remainder of the regular season. Instead, the team, now coached by interim head coach Todd Bowles, went into hostile Buffalo and completed the season sweep of the Bills with a 30-23 victory. The game started off in the Bills favor as CJ Spiller scored on a 24 yard run following a Reggie Bush fumble in the 1st quarter. Until a late 4th quarter push by the Bills, this was all they were able to manage on offense most of the game. The Dolphins after falling behind 7-0 went on a 20-0 run with two Matt Moore touchdown passes, one to tight end Anthony Fasano in the second quarter and a 65 yard bomb to Brandon Marshall in the 4th quarter. In between the two touchdown passes, kicker Dan Carpenter added two field goals from 20 yards and 26 yards. The Bills did manage to make a comeback in the 4th quarter as quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick threw two touchdown passes and kicker Dave Rayner added a 34 yard field goal. The Bills late game scoring surge was benefited by an onside kick recovery. The play of the game, that ended up being the game winning touchdown was when Bush broke off a 76 yard touchdown run as he ended up having a monstrous day running the ball. For some reason when the Dolphins go to Buffalo and it is snowing, a Dolphins running back has a good chance of rushing for over 200 yards. Bush did that as he finished the day with 25 carries for 203 yards and one rushing touchdown. Bush also added 6 yards receiving on one reception. With his performance today, Bush pushes his rushing total to 973 yards and appears to be well on his way to his first ever 1,000 yard season. Speaking of 1,000 yard season, Marshall finished the day with 3 receptions for 84 yards and one touchdown. He now has 1,021 yards on the season and it is his 5th straight season, dating back to his Denver Bronco days that he has had a 1,000 yard receiving season. With two games to go, his 1,021 yards already has topped his 1,014 yards from a year ago. Bowles moves to 1-0 as a NFL head coach, and will take his team into New England next week to play the Patriots. While Bowles is on the Dolphins head coach list, it is very unlikely that he will get the permanent job following the season. He has probably two more games to build his resume for a potential head coach job in another city. Enjoy the win Dolfans! TELL US WHAT YOU THINK IN THE FINHEAVEN FORUMS! |
