Isn't it ****ing hilarious how, outside of 9954 who has been pretty consistent since I started posting here, all of a sudden our government is worthless, can't do anything right, and is a joke? I mean, for some reason I can't possibly put a finger on ( :rolleyes2: ), right around 2009, all of a sudden our government just completely lost it's ability to be competent. I'm getting pretty tired of the blatant hypocrisy by our far-right posters. I swear, we're a society of sheep...
Whenever its a government program that ****s up: Obama's fault. Whenever a GOP member ****s up: well, its everyones fault because the government sucks and hey man im just blaming both sides.
When one side is overwhelmingly acting like window licking ******s and you try and blame both sides: you have a partisan agenda. When a school gets shot up and you caution everyone not to talk about gun control out of "respect": you have a partisan agenda. Granted, i wouldnt want to be linked to the oft-rape-discussion party either.
Another related topic that amuses me, many of those same members laughingly mock the lefties on this forum with "hows that Change working for you?!?! lulz!". Yet a minute later they jump into another thread and say "the media has never given a President this much leeway before, EVERYTHING HAS CHANGED!!!!!!". I mean, come on people...
Actually how many more times do I had to say it didn't just get bad in january 2009, I remember, I was there. I would have to have amnesia. I remember siting in front of my tv, watching Taxidriver in our new house we could barely afford in late 2007. We had one daughter that was less than a year old, and my wife told me she was late. I said you have to be kidding me, you have an IUD, you can't get pregnant.
I soon found out how wrong I was, much like how wrong I am several times on this forum. The economy was TERRIBLE, and I was literally scared ****less. It was more than a year before Obama took office, and we were in a mess.
I do not like Obama, but truth be told, my financial well being has improved under him because my wife ended up finishing her degree and becoming a RN. I feel our biggest problem is that people only hold the other party responsible for problems, I have no party, unless you include the independent, or libertarian party, they are the only ones I feel comfortable with.
My story is close to that. I got laid off back in 2007 from the highest paying job I ever had. I was a construction supervisor in charge of 30 guys. Things were going good then the bottom dropped out. 2 months later my wife got laid off. We were up s***creek without a paddle. My wife still had her part-time job helping deliver babies at a birth center. She worked her way up and is now the office manager running the place. If it wasn't for her we would be in big trouble. I've managed to get more work but the pay isn't what it used to be. In many ways she's become my sugar mama. That's happening all over the country.
