25 years ago today America was reborn

    Excerpts:

" Today marks 25 years since Ronald Reagan unseated Jimmy Carter in a landslide election victory. It's hard to think of any leader in the postwar era who made a greater mark on history."

"It was a time of 21% interest rates and the long-forgotten "misery index": inflation plus unemployment."

"His tax cuts sparked a 92-month, noninflationary boom that generated 17 million new jobs. When Reagan came into office, the top tax rate was 70%; since he left, it has remained below 40%."

"He stood before the Berlin Wall and demanded that it be torn down, and in less than 2 1/2 years it was gone."

"The Reagan Revolution taught us many lessons, but the most pertinent today may be this: Sometimes freedom depends on one man who knows what's right, and is willing to suffer ridicule for doing what's right."

    RIP President Reagan

Reagan was the greatest Prez of the last 100 years. He restored American pride. Ronnie won the Cold War and showed the world that the U.S. is the only world power.

Good ol Ronny...first pres to realize he could just print money to buy his way out of any problems. Managed to triple the national debt in a mere 8 years....very impressive.

i grew up and graduated high school in the Reagan years, and he will always be the measuring stick for presidents as far as im concerned.

but i have often wondered if my perspective on politics and life in general would be vastly different if those formative years had been during the presidency of another of our other modern day presidents, say Kennedy, or even Clinton, had i been ten years younger , for example.

Better than Roosevelt, Kennedy, Wilson or Truman?
    No.

    Maybe better than Hoover.
