    Picking QB's very inexact science

I was looking for an article about Bill Walsh and his opininion that Jim Druckenmiller and Rick Meier were destined to be great Qbs and came across this article:
    http://www.usatoday.com/sports/slead.htm

Look at these 1st round picks and and be afraid:
Since the 1990-2001 draft, 23 quarterbacks have been selected in the first round.
    Year Player Team
    1990 Jeff George Indianapolis
    Andre Ware Detroit
    1991 Dan McGwire Seattle L
    Todd Marinovich L.A. Raiders
    1992 David Klingler Cincinnati
    Dave Brown N.Y. Giants
    Tommy Maddox Denver
    1993 Drew Bledsoe New England
    Rick Mirer Seattle
    1994 Heath Shuler Washington
    Trent Dilfer Tampa Bay
    1995 Steve McNair Tennessee
    Kerry Collins Carolina
    1997 Jim Druckenmiller
    1998 Peyton Manning Indianapolis
    Ryan Leaf San Diego
    1999 Tim Couch Cleveland
    Donovan McNabb Philadelphia
    Akili Smith Cincinnati
    Daunte Culpepper Minnesota
    Cade McNown Chicago
    2000 Chad Pennington
    2001 Michael Vick Atlanta

Scouting is getting better though lately I've noticed. Less and less busts.

Very True. Especially for the Dolphins with Saban only one year removed from the college ranks. I'm sure he has plenty of solid sources.

its like the lottery you have to play to win and we never seem to play this lottery so we have a Gus at qb.
When death smiles upon you, the Infantry man smiles back. WV says Im not a patriot and Jeff Ireland is a Boss so it must be true.

    WINSTON JUSTICE!!!

Safest pick in the draft and will make whatever QB we have under center look MUCH better.

Could you not bash Frerotte for one thread! Like come on man your getting as bad as nopony and death7star. Like are you 3 all friends or something. I think with Saban's drafting he would get the 1 QB who can be at least a little successful!

Got no problem with that as long as we draft a Qb otherwise with Gus its like paying a swat team to guard your garbage can.
