No surprise. It's a holy war. The jews aren't the good guys, nor are the arabs. Both are utter scum. We (In america) just don't see both sides because the media only feeds us pro-israel stuff.

    interesting take.....

Phosphorus weapons cause chemical burns and the Red Cross and human rights groups say they should be treated as chemical weapons.
does the the geneva convention consider them chemical weapons?

While I know that boomer made a mistake at not posting a link... (thought the link is in the second post). There is a lack of argumentation in your post as to whether phosphorous should be considered non dangerous... Especially since the Red Cross points out it should be considered a chemical weapon. Israel did target Lebanese civilians, whether they did it for considering that hezbollah was using them as a decoy, or they did it to teach a lesson or they did it for reasons of hate is a completely different story, but targeted they where.

Which tells me that I would consider your post and his a tie, and both of you have to work harder to get a win on this one.

On November 30, 2005, General Peter Pace justified use of WP, declaring that WP munitions were a "legitimate tool of the military", used to illuminate targets and create smokescreens, adding: "It is not a chemical weapon. It is an incendiary. And it is well within the law of war to use those weapons as they're being used, for marking and for screening". Peter Pace then made the point that conventional weapons can be more dangerous than non-conventional weapons: "A bullet goes through skin even faster than white phosphorus does".

See AZ... he got a bit better in the whole, point, match set game thing.

Still the defense that Pete does there is that the weapon is being used to signal, and to light, what is being discused in the BBC article is that instead of being used as that, it was used to attack civilians... which is a different thing.

Incandescent particles of WP cast off by a WP weapon's initial explosion can produce extensive, deep (second and third degree), painful burns. Phosphorus burns carry a greater risk of mortality than other forms of burns due to the absorption of phosphorus into the body through the burned area, resulting in liver, heart and kidney damage, and in some cases multi-organ failure.[6] These weapons are particularly dangerous to exposed people because white phosphorus continues to burn unless deprived of oxygen or until it is completely consumed, in some cases burning right down to the bone
Yeah, you sure called that one.

As for Match, Set and Point

And that quote pretty much proves that the only way you can defend this weapon as non chemical is if you don't use it directly on people and you use it just to light your way. Once you use it directly as a weapon it becomes too dangerous.
