    Enter Barack Obama

    Enter Barack Obama

    Leader
    Friday October 27, 2006
    The Guardian

America's Democrats will carry the hopes and fears of global liberal opinion in the midterm elections on November 7: hopes - because US voters appear on the verge of at last giving a kicking to the Republicans; fears - because the party has so often squandered such opportunities in the past. But, as the Washington Post's veteran conservative columnist George Will has recently suggested, if the Democrats cannot win back the Congress in 2006, "they should go into another line of work".

    anyone reading his book?

just came out last week its good Im about 100 pages into it.
War may sometimes be a necessary evil. But no matter how necessary, it is always an evil, never a good. We will not learn how to live together in peace by killing each other's children.

Can anyone list his accomplishments? I understand he's telegenic and articulate, but what has he accomplished? Anyone?

not much yet. If he were white, there would not be such a fuss over a 2nd year senator for president.

there would too if he where incredibly charming. I mean if he where a JFK type of guy with a small career in politics he would gather as much attention.

Of course being black has helped him, but I think his popularity has more to do with his tremndous ability to selll an image of himself.

The guy is charming, a brilliant public speaker, and seems to actually know what he is talking about. His opinions, and statements, don't appear to be carefully vetted by a group of campaign handlers. He is refreshing, and can speak a language of common ground that few fellow Democrats can. When he talks about religion, and ways that Democrats can win back portions of the country that have been lost, it doesn't sound like wishful thinking. It is a shame that a 2 year Senator blows so many other politicians away, but he does.

IT IS SO GOOD TO BE BACK HOME.

It doesnt really matter how much hes done, people like him. Hes electable. People that ask what has he done wouldnt vote for him if he was a 15 year senator with a spotless record, they are just Cons looking to dump on him.

It comes down to trust. How much did George W. accomplish as the figurehead governor of Texas?

I don't know if I like Obama because he hasn't had time to become jaded and compromised by our political system, or if he is the real deal. I just know that I like him, and I think even CONs will like him too.
