Gore and Limbaugh Nominated for Nobel Peace Prize

Al Gore Nominated for Nobel Peace Prize
"A prerequisite for winning the Nobel Peace Prize is making a difference, and Al Gore has made a difference," Conservative Member of Parliament Boerge Brende, a former minister of environment and then of trade, told The Associated Press.

Landmark Legal Foundation Nominates Rush Limbaugh for 2007 Nobel Peace Prize
"Rush Limbaugh is the foremost advocate for freedom and democracy in the world today," explained Levin. "Everyday he gives voice to the values of democratic governance, individual opportunity and the just, equal application of the rule of law -- and it is fitting that the Nobel Committee recognize the power of these ideals to build a truly peaceful world for future generations."

Almost anyone can be nominated for a Nobel Peace prize, so it means little to nothing really. Wait and see if they win it, and even if they do, I don't regard this prize that highly (look at some of the past winners!)

Arafat for one. Also, what do the winners in 2006 have to do with peace? Then you have whole organizations win it occasionally. Anyway, I don't pay much attention to who wins the peace prize (or actually any of the nobel prizes, though it's always interesting to see how many Americans win each year).

Personally, the prize would have much greater credibility in my mind if they refrained from giving it out every year. There should be a much higher threshold for winning the prize.

The problem you are having is that you are locked on the Peace term

Unlike the other Nobel Prizes, the Nobel Peace Prize may be awarded to persons or organizations that are in the process of resolving an issue, or creating world peace rather than upon the resolution of the issue.
    The term is misleading.
