Show me the playoffs. No excuses!
Welker is critical to the team's sucess this season. And to lose him to NE ?! WTF are they thinking ?
we all hate to see Welker go, but at some point all the man-love has to stop. we're getting a second-rounder for Wes. do you honestly think we could have gotten a second for him if he were under contract and we traded him straight up? sure not. the contract sheet turns out to be a blessing in disguise IMO.
i hate to see him go, just like everyone on here, but he's a good WR and an average special teamer. he's not worth that type of contract and he's NOT the core of this team either. for our offense, that would be Ronnie Brown, Vernon Carey and Rex Hadnot. these are the young guys we have to build around. maybe Culpepper if he's healthy, we don't know that.
ironically, you're right that we're probably going to be a "freaking stop along the way in an NFL career" this season. i think we'll bring in a few lower-priced free agents to hold down the fort until we get our own guys.
I know man. I just can't deny how disappointed I am. It seems like Dolphins fans are just too into the "one guy take us all the way" mentality. They look at individual players too much. Super Bowl teams are usually teams made up of mostly average players that have a couple stars. It takes an entire team doing their individual parts to win.
Welker is a guy that you just want on your team. You don't compare him to T.O. or Randy Moss. Welker is simply a critical part of a winning team. And now the Patriots, a team that has won MANY Super Bowls, is getting a key player to any team.
Remember Brady to Troy Brown? Well, this year, and in the coming 7 years, we can look forward to BRADY TO WELKER. ****!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sorry, but who cares if he's the "heart of this team?" This team SUCKED the last few seasons, particularly on offense. Yes, Welker is a gutsy, hard-working player, but his presence or absence won't affect our chances at making the playoffs again one bit.
1. La'el Collins G/OT (Trade down)
2. Jay Ajayi RB (Trade down)
2. Phillip Dorsett WR
3. Arie Kouandjio G
4. Erik Rowe CB
5. Jeff Luc ILB
5. Dezmin Lewis WR
6. Ledarius Gunter CB
Let him go. I'll take the 2nd round draft pick in a heart beat. If noone hasn't realized yet, Miami is a TRUE REBUILDING MODE. Deal with it!!!
