Report: 63,000 Jobs Slashed Last Month

The U.S. Labor Department's reported that employers cut jobs by 63,000 last month - the most since March 2003 - unnerved investors worried about the health of the economy and who had been expecting a 25,000 gain in jobs. While the unemployment rate fell to 4.8 percent, the decline reflects people leaving the labor force.

The highly anticipated report came minutes after the Federal Reserve announced it would take fresh steps to ease credit troubles, including boosting the amount of money it will auction to banks. The move stoked worries that the employment reading would be weaker than expected.

At least the father had the sense to cut spending and let it crash. This idiot thinks that every problem can be solved by throwing more cash at it. I guess thats what hes done his whole life so he doesn't know any better.

I'm not sure I'm too excited that you appear to be so excited that the country is not doing as well as it was 2 months ago. I'm not sure that is exactly how your you and your PP wants to come across.

It's true that we are dropping in employment numbers. We are now at 5% unemployment if the last figure I saw was correct.

That does mean that we have 95% employment.

So you can choose to see the glass as half empty, or almost filled to the top.

What are you talking about? The communist party always celebrates job loss. Its one step closer to our evil plan to draw the proletariat back within our grasp through hopelessness and despair.

Doing things you don't have to do today will help to determine where you'll be tomorrow when you can't do anything about it!

You must have forgotten that the unemployment rate does not measure those who stop looking for work or have slipped into despair, so to speak.

And you must not be presenting the numbers on that because you don't have any. It's based on conjecture where 95% employment is fact.
