Falcons Vs Dolphins Game 1 : Falcons perspective..

so i was browsing message boards and i found this about week 1 Dolphins Vs Falcons
    Let's break it down:

QB: Matty Ice vs. Chad Pennington
Pennington doesn't throw picks, but has the weakest arm of any starting QB. Ryan is a star on the rise with a ton more weapons. Give us the advantage.

    RB: Turner/Norwood Vs. Brown/Williams
Ricky Williams is getting older, but Ronnie Brown should be completely healed from his knee injury. Turner is a workhorse and Norwood is a big play waiting to happen. Give us the edge again.

    WR: White/Jenks/Doug/Finn vs. Ginn/?/?/?
Seriously I can't think of another Dolphin receiver. We meanwhile have a ProBowler, and solid number 2 and 2 guys who can work from the slot. No brainer.

    TE: Gonzo/Hartsock/Peele vs. Fasano/?
Okay should've done my research better. Fasano is great, the guy could be top tier if he had a WR who would take some pressure off him. But Gonzo is the best ever. Im man enough to call this a tie.

    OL: Us Vs. Them
I ain't writin all those names. Our oline came from nowhere. There's got a no. 1 overall pick and became revitalized. For both lines the running game is a specialty. I'll call this a tie as well.

    DL: Us Vs. Them
Still not typing all those names. We got Abe and a bunch of solid not special players after that. Unless of course Jerry proves to be a beast, or Anderson, Davis or Sidbury steps up big. Their line is built on completely different principle do to running a 3-4. Do to Abe I give us the slight edge.

    LB: Peterson/Lofton/Nich Vs. Crowder/Roth/Porter/Taylor
Lofton is the real deal. Peterson has something left in the tank, and Nich has potential to be great. Porter put up the sacks, Crowder is good when healthy, and Taylor is a future HOF. I'll give the Fins the edge here.

    Secondary: Us Vs. Them
You know who they are. Truth be told I don't like either teams secondary, at least at the beggining of the season. I think our safeties (Coleman/Williams) will be great by season's end. But for now I'll call this a tie.

Well, looking over all the positions it seems we have the edge at the most important positions. Add to that the fact that we're playing in ATL and I say Falcons win a good game. I say 24 -17 Falcons.
i would love to know a fellow dolphins fans opinion on this kids response.. and on the game in general also

Falcons defense sucks. They'll be lucky to hold us to 17 the first half.

Slight homerism but not too overboard. Interesting that he doesn't know the names of any other receivers on our team. However, that just goes to show people how under the radar a guy like Davone Bess is. But I think his prediction is fair. They're at home and they have the advantage at QB. Therefore, I think the Falcons have to be the favorite in this game. Sure, we can win. No doubt. But we have to contain Michael Turner and we can't turn the ball over.

I don't think they have the advantage at qb. More than one flash in the pan has had a sophomore jinx. Pennington has much more experience & is healthier than he's been in years. Which team is more likely to get consistent pressure on the qb?? Advantage: Dolphins.

I posted in another thread on the 4 or 5 games that worry me the most this season.. Atlanta was one of them.

Here is a part of that post in regards to the Atlanta game:

The games that really worry me on the schedule is the Atlanta game because it's their home opener and their crowd will be fired up.. Plus they have a lot of offensive weapons and their team will have a lot of energy for the home opener. I remember when Atlanta blew Miami out and put up close to 40 points on us in the Georgia Dome the last time they had some offensive firepower.. And we had a good defense that year.

Matt Ryan, Tony Gonzalez, Roddy White, Douglas, Jenkins, Turner the Burner, Norwood.. wow.. 3rd ranked offense in the NFL last year and they are getting better as a unit.

I really think Atlanta's defense stinks and we can move the ball on them well. But again, that crowd will be so loud and pumped it may just pump up their defense to play well over their heads.. I have seen it many times before.. I just hate having to start the season in Atlanta in a loud pumped up dome against a team with so much offensive firepower.

And remember when the Dolphins played in Arizona which is like a dome. It was our worst loss of the season.. Loud crowds in domes with great offensive firepower scare me. And Atlanta was 7-1 at home last year and totally dominated some teams because of it.

It's going to be nothing like traveling to Houston last year because the Texans were 0-4 when we played them (not that they play in a dome but their stadium has the acoustics to facilitate a loud crowd).. The Falcons are coming off a season and a turnaround just like ours and that crowd will be extremely loud and vocal for their home opener.

The Falcons are like Arizona.. They both play excellent football at home and mediocre football on the road.. The Cards were 6-2 at home last year and stunk on the road.. The Cards were 6-2 at home the year before as well.. The Falcons last year were 7-1 at home and a mediocre 4-4 on the road.. And the Cards were 3-5 on the road.

Both of them are totally different teams on the road and at home..The Falcons at home reminds me of the Cardinals at home, and we all remember the game in Arizona last year.. It was also Arizona's home opener.

I hope I'm wrong but this is a bad spot to play a road game on opening weekend, much like going to Arizona last season for their home opener when their high powered offense was pumped via the loud crowd. And Arizona's defense played well over their heads against us because that crowd was loud as hell..

Arizona's defense is not as good as they showed against us, they gave up 56 points to the Jets and 48 points against the Pats.. But they were pumped for their home opener and played over their heads defensively when we played them.. Arizona's defense was flying all over the field making plays and playing well over their heads because they were so pumped at home with that crowd in their home opener.

When the Dolphins go into Atlanta on opening weekend it will be a similar buzzsaw they will be heading into. I am hoping we can get a few breaks early like a couple of turnovers (tipped passes intercepted or whatever) to somehow weather the storm early. That will be our only chance to have a chance of winning that one imo.

The people of Atlanta are extremely pumped about their Falcons. And they will show their support loudly on opening day... The game in Atlanta worries me far more than Peyton and the Colts at home on Monday Night the following week.
