Brett Favre is giving back to the Green Bay Packers (via his other former team, the New York Jets).

The Jets returned a 2010 seventh-round draft pick to the Packers that had been part of the compensation garnered in the trade that sent Favre to New York last summer.

The pick was conditional if Favre played one season with the Jets and then retired, which he did.

"The Jets needed a little bit more flexibility in case they wanted to use some future picks to trade. So since that seventh rounder was sort of a throwaway on the (Favre trade), we agreed to change some language in the trade papers in return for the seventh-round pick," Packers GM Ted Thompson told the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel.

"That's all there was to it. People do that from time to time; change some language of the trade."
