    Question for the Forum...........

Does anyone here believe that Brian Griese could play in Chan Gailey's offense? Okay then, Jay Fielder does not fit Turner's offense either. Turner did not chose him. That should be clear to everyone now that we see Brian Griese operate Turner's playbook Monday night.

i could agree with this but then again, i think norv set him up for failure. did you ever notice that jay was never throwing over the middle until new england ( a game we needed more than any other)? did you ever notice that jay wasnt ever rolling out much? ever notice that jay didnt get alot of high percentage stuff to work with other than screens and dump offs? norvs guy is griese and he is here to stay, there is no doubt in my mind about that and that is why wanny made the move because norv is assistant HC.

I agree. Fiedler was perfect for Chan, he played very well in Gailey's offense.

Fiedler is terrible for Turner, and Griese fits Turner fairly well. Griese is similar to Brad Johnson, IMO. And Norv made B. Johnson a Pro-Bowl QB.

Not exactly. First you must define what those systems require.

Norvs system requires a QB who can...
    1) Make the correct read
    2) Deliver a timely and accurate pass
    3) Be patient and opportunistic in the deep game
    4) Ability to use play-action and hit the TE over the middle
    5) Dump off to the backs when there is nothing there
    6) Spread the ball around to WR's, TE, RB's, FB
    7) Be efficient in a Run first system.

    Chans system required...
    1) An athletic QB that could stretch the defense by using his legs & arm.
    2) Make the correct read...uses 3 - 5 receiver sets.
    3) Deliver a timely and accurate pass
    4) Be opportunistic in the deep game
    5) Be efficient in a Run first system...play action passing.

Question for you then....how come Jay was successful last year in Turner's offense (at least before he broke his thumb).

How come that Jay posted in three halves in 3 games a QBR of over 100 and was highly efficient this year.
Note: I am mentioning that because our offense played only good the first half on Monday night

What did Brian execute? Brian executed the "dink and dunk" against a defense in the 1st half who amazingly played 5 yards off the receivers. Once they played tighter coverage (as Jay has faced all year) it was over with the magic...7-15-47 yards for a QBR of 54 (2nd half).

Before anybody thinks that Brian will be the starter the rest of the season let's see how he does Sunday.

I just quote Keyshawn on this one.

"If you don't go across the middle, you don't move the ball."
After he laid out N.Y. Giants cover boy Frank Gifford and forced a fumble, "Concrete Charlie" Bednarik stood over Gifford's motionless body and emphatically declared.......

    This game is over!

That's only because that's the only trick he knows. If he was a speed WR, he would say if you don't go deep you don't move the ball.

    Yea he's stupid.

But I tend to agree with his comment. It's why so many around here clamour for Gadsden......still............

Gadsden? Oh man if ppl are wanting Gadsden back they are just living in the past. They might as well wish for Dan Marino and the Mark brothers.

You're putting Gadsden in a class of people he can't even compare to. He's 2nd tier to them.
