I love this idea. We catch all the really dumb terrorists and collect a little fee in doing so. I think it's brilliant.

LMAO. I dunno man. Any terrorist that stupid doesn't really pose a threat to anyone but him/herself in my opinion. And I bet the person who collects this fee and those who file the paperwork, etc., collect a salary totalling over $100k.

The state will wrangle in three of these gutterballs lol.

Just a matter of cleaning out the shallow end of the gene pool. They can just put that function down at the DMV. They can register for a DL and register as a terrorist bent on destruction of freedom at the same time.

every person who advocates, teaches, advises or practices the duty, necessity or propriety of controlling, conducting, seizing or overthrowing the government of the United States ....

It's not just for terrorists. This law could apply to anyone who speaks out against the government. Horrible idea.

Wouldn't you view this as just another attempt by the government to watch their citizens every move and get away with it?

How would you guys feel if your girlfriend or wife followed you around all the time watching your every move just to make sure you didn't do anything you were supposed to do outside the sanctity of marriage?

This act is just absurd in my opinion.

If anything it's a "terrorist" bill in disguise. With the whole intention of giving government more power to watch and spy on americans who speak out against the government.

This isn't dumb, it's scary... who decides what is "terrorism"... I think lots of people are subversives... read this, “every member of a subversive organization, or an organization subject to foreign control, every foreign agent and every person who advocates, teaches, advises or practices the duty, necessity or propriety of controlling, conducting, seizing or overthrowing the government of the United States ....”

Do we have a poster who fits this description and may have to register? Someone who occasionally calls for a revolution? Maybe Klansmen? Maybe socialists? Maybe ....? Who knows? Sounds like a step in a very bad direction to me.... The point is this... this is called dumb because we know that our governments are not going to be registering terrorists... so why pass this as a law? Who are they hoping to register?

Apparently people are saying this act was brought about in 1951. Anyone have anymore information on this?
