Obama Related to Palin, Limbaugh, Ancestry.com Finds

President Obama may not have much in common with Sarah Palin or Rush Limbaugh, but they do share some distant relatives, according to Ancestry.com.

The online family history resource found that the president and the former Alaska governor are 10th cousins through common ancestor John Smith. Mr. Obama and Limbaugh, the conservative radio host, are also apparently 10th cousins once removed via common ancestor Richmond Terrell.

The website reports it found a number of other distant family ties between politicians. Mr. Obama and former President George W. Bush are apparently 11th cousins, as are Mr. Bush and Palin. The former gop vice presidential candidate can also claim Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and conservative commentator Ann Coulter as distant cousins.

it seems like everybody is related to everybody lol

its cool stuff, but it kind of lost its effects after the last go around. Other than the funny joke Obama made about not wanting to be invited to Cheney family hunting parties, the stuff got stale.

its not tpp suprising though. When you go from a small number of people to a large, there has to be some common ancestors

WE are all related. Bible says we all came from Adam and Eve.

Science also confirms that with DNA.

Science does no such thing. Provide proof of this please...

Genetics has found their versions of "Adam", that is the oldest common ancestor to all humans. He happens to have existed around 60,000 years ago, lived in Africa, and was black. This link talks about it, but a simple google search will give you all the other information about it you want...

DNA confirms Sumerian story of Creation

Recent advances in DNA research have established that there was an Eve who lived about 250 to 270 thousand years ago, a first mother from who all modern humans stem, no matter what their racial heritage. [In 1987, scientists from the Universities of California and Michigan announced that all human beings descended from a single mitochondrial Eve: who lived in Africa.]

Then came news a few years later that there also was an actual Adam.

All DNA Traces Back to Original African Black Man and Woman

According to the National Geographic Web site, scientists call the common male ancestor “Adam” but point out that he was not literally the first male human. Instead, Adam, who lived in Africa 60,000 years ago, is the only male whose descendants survived to the present day.
“It’s well-established science that we’re all related to the same black man and woman out of Africa about 200,000 years ago,” Miller said. “I’ve had some people get angry at me for telling them that in my DNA seminars. It’s a very touchy subject.”

Seriously. Thank you x 40,000. It gets tiring posting links from Ivy League Universities and other reputable sources, and getting answered from crap religious blogs. Good grief...

When Ancestory.com said that I was related to Dan Marino, I was so excited! 13th cousin (13th ironic huh?) once removed! And to think all these years I couldnt figure out where my quick release came from.
