Let's get down to BRASS tacks: To TANK or NOT to tank?

I say tank away... season is lost. Losing out delivers us a top 8 pick (and a shot at a QB) while also ridding us of MORANO and Co.

I know this may seem counterintuitive but I am looking at the BIG PICTURE and taking emotion out of the equation. It's really in our best interest to shelve LONG, to play THIGPEN (considering our now PEE WEE O line, & his mobility) , as well as a chance to play some of the younger guys such as Wallace & Jones more extensively.

All .500 does for us is keep these clowns in control and all but insures that we will NOT be picking a franchise QB in the coming draft.

We have a lot of young players on this team. The last thing you want them to do is 'give up' and have these young players accustomed to losing. Not a good precedent to follow.

I think we'll lose more than win over the next 6 games.. the PAts game in week 17 could be a gimme as they'll probably rest their starters...

but to throw in the towel now is just stupid because it will hurt our team more in the long run instead of helping it (no matter who you pick).

Players aren't stupid, they know when the coaches have given up. The coaches have to make sure these young players play hard getting them ready every week. You just don't want to have a bunch of young players who are used to quitting in future years.

While you're thinking about the 2011 draft, you oughta think about the young players we acquired over the past 3 years....

    ...Quitting is never the way...

Because all you're teaching them is - "when things get a little tough in the NFL, just quit and collect your paycheck".

I don't think you'll find your qb savior at 8th overall in the draft anyway.

You never tank in this league. You never give up halfway through the season.

Any franchise that loses games in order to get higher draft picks is pathetic. Exactly how has getting high draft picks helped the Lions, Bills, Browns, Raiders, 49ers, etc...all these years.

As a fan it is hard to believe there are fans out there that want this team to tank...what a joke!!!

    .
Wow...great idea...your strategy worked wonders for the Chargers when they picked Ryan Leaf, the Bengals picked Akilli Smith, the Texans picked David Carr, the Browns picked Tim Couch, the Lions picked Joey Harrington, the 49ers picked Alex Smith, the Raiders picked JaMarcus Rusell, etc...

There is just as greater chance of picking a NON-franchise QB in the 1st round and setting at team back for years in a bad contract than getting one.

Nothing personal, but get a clue!
