Realistically, How Many Fins Players Can Be Considered "League Elite" ?

To me, "elite" would entail being in the top 1/3rd of all league players at that particular position. I understand it's subjective but anyway, what follows is my guestimate. Of the 22 position starters + 4 essential ST specialists (kicker, punter, KR and PR), I come up with 50% (11total) all our starters and 50% (2) of skilled special teamers who would qualify as "league elite."

Please feel free to weigh in, take issue, point out omissions, etc..... (at least if you're a fins fan.. otherwise, GFYS and do even that elsewhere)
    .

    Long: top 5% LTs
    Carpenter: top 5% Ks
    Marshall: top 10% WRs
    Wake: top 10% OLBs
    Dansby: top 10% ILBs
    Bess: top 15% slot Rs
    Starks: top 20% DEs
    Fields: top 20% Pntrs
    Carey: top 25% RTs
    V.Davis: top 25% CBs
    Soliai: top 25% NTs
    Langford: top 30% DEs
    Polite: top 33% FBs

Jake, when healthy, is the Best LT in the game maybe 2nd, 3rd at worst. Carp IMO is also a top 5 kicker just because he has been so consistent and has gotten his leg stronger each season.

Bess is the best slot WR IMO, 2nd if you consider Welker a slot guy.

Wake is a top 5 pass rusher, but IDK about OLB.

Vontae is playing like a top 5 CB this year in terms of taking away half the field.

IMO Kendall Langford has developed into a top 10 3-4 DE.

Vontae, Long, Wake, Carpenter, and Dansby are the only elite players on this team. The others are good but no where near elite. These five dominate their competition nuff said

Wake, Marshall, Dansby and Long are the true elite players on the roster. When I think elite, I think of guys who would make top level $ at their position if they are on the market.

Before the year started, I had Wake as a top pass rusher but an average OLB . . . but I think his major improvement against the run and in coverage, and the hustle this guy displays and the fact that he is probably held more than any other player in the league . . . he IMO is a top 5 OLB. I gotta give it to him, dude is an absolute STUD. Leading the league in sacks is like a cherry on top.

I think the Langford/Starks DE combo is a top one . . . give Starks a pass because he practiced at NT all offseason and he put on some weight. We saw how great he was last year, he will get back there.

Bess is definitely a top slot WR

    Jake/Marshall is a given

Dansby IMO is a top 10 ILB

Vontae had a small stretch where is tackling sucked and got burnt on one play against Jennings . . . but he has been like Scrabble at times . . . you don't hear from him all game, and that is a great thing.

Carp is a top 5 kicker, probably top 3.

Soliai playing at a top 10 NT level.

Polite I would agree is a top 10 FB

Any doubt that Brandon Fields is a top 10 punter after last week

We will see how elite BM is before it's all said and done. Don't leave him off your list.

    Long, Dansby, Marshall, Wake.

Vonate isn't elite, but he sure as hell will be very soon.
