FA Dolphins place tender on Tyler Thigpen

    http://blogs.sun-sentinel.com/sports...r-thigpen.html

The Miami Dolphins have placed a one-year tender on Tyler Thigpen with the hopes that a new Collective Bargaining Agreement will make last year’s No. 3 quarterback a restricted free agent in 2011, virtually ensuring he returns to the team.

Zach Thomas: I played against New England twice a year every year my whole career. I learned to not like that team. I wasn't going to join them.

It's smart but I doubt anyone would give up what I'm sure is a 3rd round tender

Sometimes that the point..You tender him higher than he is worth that way no one is willing to give it up.. or at least you could trade him for something..better than nothing..We gave up a 5th I would take a 5th for him.

All depends on what type of tender they put on him. It could go from no compensation with the right to match, all the way up to a first and third round draft pick.

I am thinking for Thigpen its the original round he was picked in.

But again, unless there is a CBA prior to the draft, no team can trade a draft pick. Besides that, if there is a lockout, no team can even bargain with him. Not sure if the guys will even sign the tenders, nothing is forcing them too because they usually have until the middle of April to sign it. By the middle of April there may be no CBA or even a Union.

    I would not sign it.

I like thigpen, but morono won't give him a chance to start. It's looking like Henne will start another season. sub 500 here we come.

Sparano gave Thigpen the start against the Bears. Thigpen melted.

Thigpen is a good QB. Henne better be careful Thigpen may be a better fit for the new offense. We can still draft a QB in case neither work out. If Henne or Thigpen workout we trade the drafted QB down the road.
