Jeff is satisfied with the QB position
Does anybody really know?
We all have our favorites, but after watching Jeff Ireland run the Fins as GM for the past 3 years and getting a feel for the players he likes, who do you think Jeff Ireland is "seriously" interested in at QB, based on what he wants out of his QB, what it takes to get that QB and the skillset he brings to the table.
Sho誰uff: Am I the meanest?
Sho誰uff: Am I the prettiest?
Sho誰uff: Am I the baddest mo-fo, low-down, around this town?
Sho誰uff: Well, who am I?
Sho誰uff: Who am I?
Sho誰uff: I can稚 hear you!
Sho誰uff: The Shogun of Harlem!
I think it could be Mallett or Dalton but I dont think either has a 1st round grade on his board.
Tyrod Taylor, Josh Portis, Colin Kaepernick... (Pat White, Isaiah Stanback, Quincy Carter, etc.) you get the picture...
Jeff Ireland drafting an actual quarterback like Ryan Mallett would have always been the shocker for me.
I bet it's Ponder. It's the one QB we haven't heard much of anything about throughout this entire process. He also fits that athletic QB mold they have hinted at liking. I can almost guarantee it's not Kaepernick, too much information has been leaked linking us to him. I'm still not convinced it's not Mallet, but I think a safer bet is that its Ponder...
I would like to say Mallett but more than likely its Ponder. I'm sure he also really likes Gabbert.
Dick Butkus: "I wouldn't ever set out to hurt anyone deliberately unless it was, you know, important like a league game or something."
Not that I think it's Locker but the fact they haven't worked him out or really spoken about him seems fishy to me.. no pun intended ..... but the toughness, leadership, blue collar style play and a big arm and ability to move seems like something they would atleast look into. I mean these guys do always seem to look to the wrong guy, so one would assume locker would be on their radar or atleast looked into.
i also agree that ponder and tyrod taylor would be on that list as well. kaepernick.. ugh yea him too.
I don't want Colin K...but I bet Ireland does.
We're talking about his #1 QB on the board, right?
Reading the tea leaves I think the #1 QB on his board is Blaine Gabbert. At first when Miami lined up all these QBs they were going to talk to and visit with, Gabbert was not set to be on the list because they didn't think he'd be in play for them. Then they started to catch word that he could fall far enough to jump up. They'd already set dates with Cam Newton to that point. This points IMO to them having Gabbert as the #1 QB on their board. When Ireland mentions a contingency plan for moving up if a certain player falls far enough, I think he's talking about Blaine.
For better or worse.
After that I'm not sure what his board looks like. I could see Mallett being high on it for the same reason Henne ended up high on their board. Same TYPE of player though Mallett obviously more talented.
