Ummmm it WAS a great turn around. No other way to look at it really. It's considered the greatest franchise turn around in NFL history. From 1 win to 11 wins in ONE season. Folks here are ungrateful. Get over it guys.

It's funny you say that because he has been relatively successful at our drafts. He's also finally gotten rid of some parts that were stinking up the place. (Ted Ginn/Jason Allen)

Really, i'd like to see some proof - tangible proof of your point. Let me know of players in FA that we have let go that have gone on to become super stars. Donald Thomas, yeh? No. Justin Smiley? Nope. Ted Ginn? Nope.

I think he has built the team into a solid, tough, young team that is on the right track. If the Dolphins can somehow find their franchise quarterback, you would be surprised how much better the talent Parcells assembled on this team looks.
He did what he is known for, he turend around an awful franchise(at the time) and made them respectable but left before he could finish the job. He did the same the thing in NE, w/ NYJ and in Dallas. He also turned around the Giants but he won 2 SBs b/c George Young was picking the players not BP. He's an all-time great coach but a mediocre GM type.

He deserves credit for the turnarounds, he DID turn around Miami but he didn't finish the job. How quickly people forget, you guys were 1-15 the year before and hadn't been a true playoff contender since 2002 and hadn't been in a playoff game since 2001. he deserves credit for helping turn Miami into a decent team. if people expected him to build a champion their expectations were far too high, I explained that at the time. The only time he has won big is when he was coaching and not picking players, it was unrealistic to expect him to build a champion in Miami.

I have no problem with the roster he built, my problem is with him going out the way he did. Lost a lot of respect for him.
You should have expected it. That is what he has done everywhere. This is a man who won the SB in jan of '87 and tried to leave the Giants. If it was up to him he would have been the falcons HC after that season. He was talking w/ the Jets while preparing for a SB w/ NE, he left the Jets after just 3 years and cost us Bill Belichick in the process, he jilted TB TWICE and he walked out on Dallas as they looked ready to be a SB contender. This is who he is and has always been.

He was the biggest reason Miami went from 1-15 to 11-5. They were going to improve regardless but getting to 11-5 and winning the division was b/c of BP. Sparano and Ireland did good jobs and he brought them in and he signed Pennington who was the most important piece on the field.

And those who also get it, know that Ireland gets it. Those who are clueless are still concerned about cornfed and the running game"

the turnaround from 1-15 to 11-5 wasn't Bill Parcells. It was Chad Pennington falling in to our laps.

Its kinda hard not to improve from 1-15. He did little IMO and the team is as consistent at winning at the rest of the decade

So Parcells is supposed to get tons of credit for a single winning season, combined with an absolute thumping at home in the first round of the playoffs? Fine, but then he should also get tons of "credit" for his role in the subsequent two consecutive losing seasons (something that hadn't happened in Miami since the 1960s), to say nothing of this year's impending debacle.
