Miami Dolphins Free Agency Preview: Linebacker Kevin Burnett

The Dolphins have tried to plug in several guys and, with great disappointment, this has failed. The Miami Dolphins are in need of another middle linebacker who can play off of Karlos Dansby's strengths. Some one who can make several game changing plays. This player doesn't necessary have to be a pro-bowl player, just a valid part of the defense.

Meet Kevin Burnett. In his seven years in the NFL his productivity has gone up. Last year was his best all around season: 95 tackles, six sacks, two interceptions. Crowder has never had a season like this after being a third round draft by the Dolphins.

I have mentioned Burnett's name several times on twitter. He is a former Cowboy who this organization knows plenty about and the have tried to sign him in the past and most importantly he can play ILB and some OLB. I would really like for the Fins to add Burnett.

Zach Thomas: I played against New England twice a year every year my whole career. I learned to not like that team. I wasn't going to join them.

Hey finatic. What if instead Miami signed Manny Lawson and moved Koa Misi to inside linebacker? I think Lawson would add more of a pass rush and that's not really Misi's forte. Just a thought.

I think Burnett re-signs with San Diego, but we'll see what happens.

Crowder needs to be upgraded ... he's not even a shadow of his teacher Zach.

aj edds is supposed to provide what kevin burnett would...and burnetts not enough of a thumper to want to pair next to karlos dansby inside in a 3-4...but yeah crowder definitely needs to be upgraded whenever we can...crowders got the same problem today he's had his entire football career and will always have no matter how much tape he watches or reps he gets...he lacks instincts for the position

as for ilb help this upcoming draft looks pretty loaded
hoops scoops 2012 season ..."in 2014 ryan tannehill etches his name in stone amongst the games elite qbs"..."ryan tannehill and andrew luck will carry the afc for the next decade plus the way peyton manning and tom brady have this last decade plus"

I would love to have Burnett, but it won't happen. Too much money.

I could see the Dolphins signing Takeo Spikes. If the 49ers lose Aubrayo Franklin they probably have money to re-sign Spikes, but if they don't, I could see the Dolphins offering him a two year contract.

I've been asking for a upgrade at that position. Chowder and Fasano are 2nd/3rd tier players, with no natural ability to make plays.
