    Vontae or Sean Smith?

Currently on twitter Omar Kelly is debating followers about the better player now and going forward. Im a huge Vontae mark, think hes one of the better all around dbs in the NFL. I think Smith is a good player who plays well below his ability. I think Vonate should be in the second tier right behind Revis, Nnamdi, Woodson and Samuel. Anyone care to weigh in?

Vontae is a beast, but Sean Smith is also really good. He just needs to catch the ball. Smith had a good season last year minus all the dropped picks.

1 interception in 31 games is just not good enough

vontaes the more critical player...we lock him up one on one vs the oppositions top wr all the time and don't give him much help...he'll also be the one that gets the more lucrative contract when his time comes up for renewal

but smiths versatility is rare and cannot be understated...

I think it's hard to compare them because they are different types of players. If I had to choose one, it would be vontae. But I'm sure as he'll glad that they are both on our team. They are only gonna get better and I'm looking forward to see how much more they have developed coming into this season.

I couldn't have said it better. Good reply.

Both are very good, but they are very different players. Whichever one learns to get INTs will be better.

it comes down to a simple fact.... quarterbacks wouldn't throw at vontae's side of the field. he obviously isn't in the same breath as nnamdi but people like to look at his stats and say he isnt that good. The fact is he shuts out one player on the offense and the quarterback doesnt so much as to even think about throwing it that way and for much of last year vontae was getting that same treatment.

Sean Smith had a great year, and had plenty of dropped picks... but he was also getting thrown at waaaaaaay more. Offenses decided to try and pick on him, and overall he held his own.

But if its vontae vs sean. Its vontae.
